Eligibility
Membership of Basingstoke and Deane canoe Club (the Club) shall be open to anyone interested in the sport on application regardless of sex, age, disability, ethnicity, nationality, sexual orientation, religion or other beliefs. However, limitation of membership according to available facilities is allowable on a non-discriminatory basis.
Classes of Membership
The Club shall be open to:
- Adults (over 18. May include one Junior up to 5th birthday.)
- Juniors (5 – 18 years)
- Families (1 or 2 adults plus their children under the age of 18 or in full time education)
- Concessionary
- Full time students
- OAPs
- Unemployed
- Similar situation approved by the Directors
- Temporary Members
Application
Application shall be made to the Committee on the form provided. The Committee shall have the power to request such further information as they may deem necessary to assess the suitability of the applicant.
Membership Term
The membership year will run from 1st April to 31st March.
Membership lapses on the 31st March. Any member who has not paid the Club subscription by 31st March will automatically cease to be a member and will have to reapply.
Subscriptions
The subscription shall be set by the Committee. A one off joining fee shall be payable by all new members at a level set by the Committee.
Temporary Membership
Temporary membership shall be available under terms and conditions decided by the Directors. Temporary members shall have no voting rights.
Affiliations
The Club will accept affiliated membership from other bona fide organisations, including other canoe clubs, youth organisations and schools, as outlined in the Affiliation Policy. Affiliation fees and voting rights shall be decided by the Directors.
