It has been two and a half years since our last digger day at Colt Hill Clubhouse and finally we can afford to have another one.
The main focus was to reduce the level to the east of the Clubhouse down to the level of the towpath. In this session we excavated over 140 tonnes of subsoil, of which we have disposed of 6 lorry loads. However with eleven volunteers we could do much more that just use one excavator and one dumper.
Work on the hedges around the wildflower meadow included removing much of the weed and undergrowth and pruning the hedges: there is now a large pile of trimmings to be burned.
