Hedging

Planting will be undertaken this autumn to reinforce the existing hedges around the site and to create a new hedge across the site between the car park and the conservation area. We have selected Hopes Grove Nurseries mixed native hedging, mix 2, and placed an order so we receive bare rooted transplants this autumn.

Following earlier work undertaken by Southern Electric to create a new access from the car park Club members have constructed a permanent metalled way from the car park to the clubhouse site.
Wild Flower Meadow

About one third of the overall plot of land, at the east end of the site, will be cultivated to encourage a wild flower meadow to develop.

Today we worked on the new vehicular access to the land.

Yesterday's work party focused on tidying the site:
- Consolidating topsoil into one stockpile
- Trimming along the hedge by the car park
- Removing bottles

- Details
Wednesday 13th July
We started removing the bottles uncovered by Southern Electric this evening. Sorting the bottles to take to the bottle bank will be significant task.
